VMware products

At the moment, the following products are available that are licensed based on physical processor cores and exclusively in a subscription format.

VMware vSphere Standard

VMware vSphere Standard is an entry-level solution for server virtualization that allows efficient and secure execution of virtual machines on one or multiple physical servers. It includes the ESXi hypervisor, centralized management through vCenter, as well as High Availability (HA) and vMotion features, providing stable and easily manageable virtual infrastructure for small to medium-sized environments.

VVS can be purchased only until October 11th, 2027. Minimum volume: 72 cores. Maximum volume: 512 cores.

VMware Cloud Foundation

VMware Cloud Foundation is a full-fledged platform for building and managing private clouds, which consolidates compute resources, storage, and networking into a single software-defined environment. Its components include:

vSphere: core virtualization component.
vSAN: software-defined storage system.
NSX: network virtualization and security solution.
VCF Automation: a self-service portal with service catalogs for rapid deployment of virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, and AI environments, enabling teams to provision resources within minutes while adhering to policies and quotas.
VCF Operations enables full operational transparency via monitoring, analytics, capacity forecasting, cost optimization, and proactive problem detection across the entire environment. Collectively, this platform supports Kubernetes and containerized applications, AI/ML workloads, built-in security, and high availability, offering a unified approach to modern private and hybrid cloud environments.

Minimum order size: 72 cores (no upper limit, scales according to needs).

The platform ensures centralized lifecycle automation from initial setup to updates and scaling.

Advanced Services

Advanced Services extend the basic capabilities of VMware Cloud Foundation and must be acquired separately. These include:

Avi Load Balancer: software-defined load balancer at layers L4-L7 with integrated Web Application Firewall (WAF), protecting web apps, auto-scaling, deep traffic analysis, and integration with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructures.
VMware vDefend: network security platform featuring micro-segmentation, threat detection, and workload protection, reducing attack risks and implementing zero-trust architecture in private clouds.
Data Services Manager: centralized service for database-as-a-service (DBaaS) deployment and management, simplifying delivery, updating, and lifecycle control over data services for applications.
VMware Live Recovery: solution ensuring business continuity by quickly recovering services after outages or ransomware attacks, safeguarding critical data in both private and hybrid environments.

VMware Tanzu

VMware Tanzu is a platform designed for developing and operating modern applications, facilitating fast creation, deployment, and management of container-based and Kubernetes-native applications in private and hybrid clouds. Tanzu simplifies workflows for DevOps and app teams through its self-service model, built-in security, and automation, supporting private AI/data services and delivering a seamless path from code development to production.
